Removing AC for storage
I am stripping down my car but plan on putting the AC back on when i rebuild it.. My question is do i have ot do anythng special to the AC components to prevent anything bad happening while they are all in storage.. I have heard that they will rust really quickly when the system is open to regular air so wanted to make sure i take any necessary precautions before i tear into it.
Cheers,
Richard.

Re: Removing AC for storage
Hmm, I'm no A/C expert but may give some general thoughts about it.
First off you might want to go to an A/C shop to reclaim the remaining refrigerant in the system. They should be able to give advice about storage, plus you could need to use them later anyway to vakuum and recharge the system.
It's good practice to replace some items while it's open, like the orifice tube and the receiver/drier.
The idea about storage would be to flush the (moist) air from the lines that has entered while disassembling, with some dry gas, and then plug the lines.
