of course. painless performance. Or you could cheap out and switch 12 volts to the fan very easily.

Re: How do I make my fan work with a toggle only

Let me reword my question. Does any one know how to rewire or add a toggle to the stock relay.

I have seen the other post about using painless performance and other venders replacement parts.
Running 12 volts to the fan without a relay is not an option unless you want replace alot fuses or put out fires.

Does anyone know how the temp switch works? Does it just create a ground and that turns on the relay. There has to be an eazy way to turn the fan on though the stock relay.

Yes. Its easy and no crazy toggle wiring harness from some wierd place. On the relay there should be green and white wire, that is the ground that completes the circut for your relay.

The Stock Setup... The stock fan setup works as follows= Grn/Wite runs from your fan switch located on the passenger side head. It Is a single wire to a sensor that grounds the connection at a given temp. 220 degrees stock. Your switch is going to do this for your relay.

The wiring... 2 prong on/off only switch. Very basic, to have your fan run continuosly at the flip of a switch just splice the grn/whte wire at the relay. !!Do not cut it!! just piggyback a low gauge wire to it and run it to your switch. Second, from the other side of your switch run another wire to any solid ground source. The toggle will operate your fan with out risk of fire or shorting anything out... Hope it Helps... Have pics if you need them...-RevZ28

What do you mean by any ground source? Can you show an example? Thanks.

A ground source can be anywhere depending on where you want to mount the switch... Its just needs a ground to complete the circut. Here is a pic to show the splice and ground I choose. I mounted the switch to the dash under the cigerette lighter...

Is there a reason you used such a lower gauge (thicker) wire?

Ok.......So ALL I have to do to control my second cooling fan by a switch is:

Ground the switch... As in the picture...

Tap into the green wire for the other prong on the switch, then run wires into the car to where the switch is mounted?

Second fan should be gray wire, because I don't think that relay has a green white wire.

I asked this question when i bought my trans am a year or so ago.
