AC problems

I dont think I have any refrigerrent in the ac system, would that cause the AC compressor not to work or would it work for a second and then the pressere switch would turn the ac compressor off? I know its a stupid question.

Re: AC problems

If your AC system is low, it will cycle the AC compressor on and off.

If its out of refrigerant, it wont come on.

Put a set of gauges on it to find out, or, jump the pressure switch, and if the compressor comes on, your out of refrigerant.
