87 GTA Cooling Fans problem
87 GTA Cooling Fans problem
I did a search on the forum and really couldn't find anything to help me move forward.
Specs - 1987 Trans Am GTA; Switched to a Carb'd 350, 2 electric fans, 160 thermo.
When I bought the car, the fans were rigged into the fuse panel to run all the time. I did not want this because, well, this isn't how they were meant to run. After some reading it seems that the one fan is supposed to run all the time and the other fan is supposed to come on when the car reaches a certain temperature? I do not see or know of any temp sensor on the block or radiator that I can wire a relay into. I am not sure what to do from here? As of right now, I manually wire the fan in to a hot wire every time I get into the car (real PITA). I read willie's article but didn't help me much because my situation seems rather unique.
Thanks in advanced for any help!
