Blind guy needs help finding Sensor

Legally blind, not totally, I felt everywhere but no luck... I checked my 91 book, no luck either...

I have a 91 TPI 5 Speed. The sensor that monitors the temp and turns the fan on... I think it's close to Driver's side Spark Plug 1... I found the cable, disconnected of course... I can't see that far and I felt every where I could...?? Can you guide me from the spark plug, is it in the block, the head, etc... front / side, etc...??

Thanks in advance

Raf

the sensor on the drivers side at the front of the head is for your gauge in the car. the one that turns the fan on is on the passenger side in the block between 6 and 8 exhaust ports.

Re: Blind guy needs help finding Sensor

It's the gauge I noticed not moving anymore... and it was previously working...

So front of the head... I assume the front of the motor ?

Again, I found the cable / spade plug, just couldn't find the sensor to plug it back in to...

thanks,

Raf

Update:
Mounts on the driver side cylinder head between cylinders 1 and 3, and sends the coolant temperature signal to the gauge in the dash.

Re: Blind guy needs help finding Sensor

Question...
This sensor is for the gauge inside...
There is another sensor for just the fan...

Can I still run my car and the fan turn on, just the gauge won't move...??

I need to get a new sensor, end broke off and I want to run the car without it overheating / damage... Thanks,

Raf

Re: Blind guy needs help finding Sensor

correct, as long as the sensor for the fan is not broke, it is common for them to break due to the heat, the fan will still work. the two sensors are independent of each other.
