Serious Problem And Help Needed

I recently replaced the heater core on my car and after finally getting it installed i took my car for a drive, and noticed alot of smoke coming from under the hood. I thought antifreeze was coming from the heater hoses going to the core, but it was coming from some rubber hose behind the engine, and it was leaking, well pouring fluid all over the hot exhuast, making lots and lots of steam. I cannot figure where this hose went to, and in serious need of some help.

Any diagrams, help or anything? The hose looks like this sorta. I can watch as all the antifreeze leaks out this hole, drips onto exhuast and steams up. It empties all the antifreeze/water out, and i have to refill, and this only happens, when i am stopped, or like at a light, on the highway i did nto notice it much...

Any help!!??!?!

Re: Serious Problem And Help Needed

There are two heater hoses that come out of the firewall. One goes to the engine block and one goes to the water pump. Check and make sure those two hoses are there...your hose that has the hole might be one of the heater hoses.

I would really make sure you have two heater hoses....I know you said it wasn't a heater hose, but just double check. Otherwise, I cannot really think of what it is.

Also, what year is the car and what engine?

1988 mpfi v6. It shouldnt be the heater hoses that go to the heater core...

This happened not long after, but the antifreeze that is dripping, is coming from somewhere else, it is kinda behind the distributor cap...
