Car gets hot and Diesels HELP!!!!

Ok I have a 1986 Iroc z 305 with q-jet, 5spd, The car seems to get hot when in traffic or at a idle. It has a new water pump 180 stat, new coolant temp sensor, fans working, Have code 15 for CTS. Timing is good i even tried setting it to about 4 degrees with no difference. Even when the car is running about 180 degrees it will diesel when i shut it off. The car is bone stock with only 59k orginal miles. The car is in great near mint condtion i just need to get this problem fixed. Anyone have any ideas or experiance with this problem ?

Thanks for any help

Re: Car gets hot and Diesels HELP!!!!

Try running a few gallons of premium gas when you are close to empty for the dieseling and see if that does anything other than make your wallet smaller. I am just guessing here but I would bet it is heat related. Adjusting the timing or using premium used to be an easy, quick fix for dieseling but with all the sensors etc on these cars, I am not sure. Have you tried doing a search on this site?
