Question..... Air Dam???

My car does not have an air dam but i was wondering if i get one will it help the cooling of my car? I have overheating problems if the fan isn't running.... i have changed the thermostat and the coolant temp sensor and flushed the radiator and the temp climbs to overheating (the red part) then the fan kicks on to bring it down just below overheating then it does it again.... i usuallly have my car on AC so the fan is always on to keeep her cool. but i was wondering if an air dam will help me....

Re: Question..... Air Dam???

Absolutely get that air dam. Many of the sponsors of this site have them as well as salvage yards. It should bring your temps way down at speeds over 30+. Uncle Tom, one good thing about the lower air dam hitting the speed bumps is that it reminds me I have a deep trans pan.

Re: Question..... Air Dam???

I found that the newer design is made of different plastic, and the old one breaks very easily. It's a joke that they even made them out of such cheap plastic. I bought one from modern day muscle, and I broke it the first day, then I got a three peice from a 91, and just used the middle peice. It's much more flexible, but I need a bigger radiator.
