Fan fuse blowing!!!
I have a '83 z-28 which i installed a single Camaro fan. I put an after-market probe-in-radiator controller in. The fan is on all the time and the 25A fuse gets hot and blows. Can i put in a 30A fuse? The wiring is good... this fan just draws a lot of current!

Re: Fan fuse blowing!!!
the probe you installed, i assume its there to turn the fan on and off at a given temp? now, if the fan is running all the time, from when you start the car to when you turn it off, that there is your problem. something is wired wrong with the probe and thus the circuit is always closed and the fan always runs. not all fans are made to sun all the time, as the fan overheats it creates more internal resistance, draws more current, then blows the fuse. I would fix the probe issue first, and go from there. A larger fuse could possibly cause the overheating fan to continue running and burn out, or burn up the wiring/car.
is this a factory fan, or a after market one. what is it supposed to draw?

Re: Fan fuse blowing!!!
it's a stock camaro single fan...probably from a v-6 car. the car runs nice at 180* with the fan running. i think the fan is under-fused at 25A.. i'm goin' for the 30A first and see what happens. i would like to get the fan to turn on at 190* instead....that would save the fan motor.....the wiring is good. when cold, the fan is off...but it turns on at 180*...the operating temp of the motor!...so it's on all the time!
