Summit "Direct Fit" Alum. Radiators . ..?

Can I get some recent feedback on these radiators?
Older threads seem to say they were about $190, must've jumped in price.
Still better than what I've read about "Be-Cool".

Is this the same one?

How is the install? Will my stock fans, a/m tranny cooler and condenser have a hard time all fitting?
Any additional parts needed? Results after completion?
My stocker on the '89 GTA is fine and my temps stay below 200*, but I'm just curious at this point.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Summit "Direct Fit" Alum. Radiators . ..?

Outatime, I don`t have the Summit direct fit radiator but I know there has been a lot of posts about them on this site this past summer. From what I remember, they do take a minor amount of fabrication to fit, not exactly a direct fit. They are supposed to be made by Northern who has a good reputation. If no one responds to your question, try the "search" at the top of the page and there should be a lot of good info there.

loneroad - Bummer, not what I wanted to hear.

jimdutro - Haha, thanks for the search tip, well aware of it.
However, they've changed the function as of late it seems and I have not been able to pull as accurate of results as I used to.

I am running one in my gta, I would not call it a direct fit but it is a very nice radiator. I had to hammer the inner subframe rail around were the lower radiator hose goes and comepletely un screw the drain **** so it would clear the stearing box when i installed it. overall I am very please with the radiator, its freakin massive.

I have a Griffin alluminum radiator they offer it in different sizes it was pretty easy to fit it in but still required some minor modification but i don't remember how much i paid but i think it was a little more then this summit one

Re: Summit "Direct Fit" Alum. Radiators . ..?

i have the direct fit radiator, though i think i got mine from jegs. I had a single fan and it fit ok, the frame rail needs a little hammering to get clearance around the lower radiator hose connection, its not required, but it keeps things from rubbing, also i had to cut a small piece off the end of the upper plastic radiator support, no biggie, and i think i needed to notch a little of the lower support for the drain to work. Its a good radiator for the price, it keeps my engine good and cool.
