engine coolant leak

engine coolant leak

hi, my 87 firebird has been leaking engine coolant from where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine and i was wondering if any one know what could of happen and how much it will cost to fix?

is it leaking from the hose or the thermostat housing?

its leaking from the bottom of the housing

than its just the housing gasket u can get one for like 75 cents at a autoparts store and u just unbolt the housing and rip whats left of the old gasket off and just put the new one on it really not hard at all

don't forget to use RTV gasket seal on it , and let the RTV cure before re-filling .

Yeah and use black RTV. It can handle the heat much more better.
