Re: whats that thing chill'n on my radiator
the first shenannaguns is some original insulation on a cooling line
the second thing on the radiator itself looks big in the picture but it really just a sensor that is not used (the radiator was replaced by the previous owner). there's no way that the hose on my car or yours from the air management system could plub there because the hose is too big for that connection & theres a prong for a sensor wire that the picture doesn't show too.
My guess is you air management system wasn't kept when the nice upgrade to a 355 was done. do you have headers?

Think he's probably right.
See if the other end of the hose goes to a steel tube that runs along the frame towards the fire wall.

Based on the notes you made on that photo — yep, someone did a quick way to block off the heater hose port on your radiator.
----------
The Low Coolant Sensor on the radiator is lower down on the tank. What he circled on your photo is the heater hose connection that's just below the fill neck. Looks like you've got a piece of a rag or something stuffed in there.

It looks like someone plugged the hose with an old distributor rotor from a small cap hei. Mike

And in scooter 500's pics, that nonsense is the pre 87 AC crap. I ripped all of it out. So much more room. Soon with the LS1 fans. And the serpentine setup.
