Happiness is...

A coolant reservoir that didn't change all weekend!!! It only took a new heater core, new hoses and a new radiator, but I have finally fixed all the leaks in the cooling system. Now I can enjoy driving my new (to me) 85 Z28!

How long did it take you to change the heater core? Mine was a pain, 6 hours total...

Probably about that long. I took my time and moved the dash back out of the way since I haven't done this job before. The hardest part was getting the new one seated in. It kept hanging up on the control lever that goes in front of it. Every time I would try to push the core in, it would open the door. Finally, I pushed pretty hard and popped it past whatever was holding it back. The problem was that my fingernail got caught on something and it got bent backward as the core dropped into place. Ouch.
