New Radiator has no top return hose, what now?

After getting my 4 core radiator installed i was surprised to find that it doesn't have a top return line below the filler neck! I didn't know what to do and was 20 miles from home so I ran that line into the one the heater core control went to and connected 2 of the heater core lines where the valve was. What can I do about this? Is there a routing I can use to keep the heater and oil cooler functional? Or will I have to break down and get a top inlet welded in?
