HELP!! Blown heater core
HELP!! Blown heater core
Ok, so heres my situation. I live in Windsor, Ont, Canada and drove to London, Ont today for a car meet. Got pulled over doing 120km/h in a 100..blah blah blah. Ok, thats alright..I can fight that. NOW to add insult to injury, as soon as I stopped into the hotel BOOM! The heater core gave out. Coolant all on the inside of the passenger floor.
Does anyone know any by-passes I can do? I need to just get home, it's about a 2 hour drive.. I know of a by-pass..well sort-of but not sure what lines to do, and how to do it. I have a 1984 Berlinetta with a 2.8L v6.

Re: HELP!! Blown heater core
I was able to use the smaller hose straight from the block (inlet hose for the core) and go right to the rad, took a bit of finessing, but is possible.
Don't force it and watch that it doesn't crease or fold under the inlet tube on the rad. My 88 has an older motor, but this shouldn't make a difference, still the same sizes hoses for in and out of the core.
Good temp fix if you are out and can't get any parts.
