sending unit wire

sending unit wire

hey, my camaro has a temp guage, but there is no wire connecting the sending unit to the guage.
where should i look for this wire?

Left side of engine, just behind the first spark plug. It is a one wire connector. I think it is green. The wire should be somewhere in this area. I think it is in the same bundle as the O2 sensor. It goes down along the cross member and past the engine mount.

i see the sending unit no problem... the wiring has been all hacked up though, and i cant find it.
thats why i asked if anyone knew where to find a new one.

What kind of car is it? Engine? Start at connector C100 at the fire wall (the big one) and find the wire and trace it as far as you can then splice in a new wire and connector. Look here for the wiring diagram. I think they are all dk green.

well i found a wire, and connecter, spliced it in, and come to find out, the guage is broken or something.
cycles to full high when i turn the key 3/4 to start, but goes back down to low.
same thing with wire connected as disconnected.

It is common to peg the gauge on start up. What does it read after you start? You can try swapping gauges. The gauge can be removed without taking the cluster out.
