Electric fan
Electric fan
I'm having a problem with the fan. It would come on when the temp reach 190 degree, but now it comes on as soon as you turn the switch, and I'm not getting an error code. I change the fan relay but that didn't work

Ohhhh Maaaann! Be my HERO. Im having similar problem. Could use all help.
1992 Camaro RS V6 Auto 3.1L 269,000miles
4 days ago just happened to look at dash, and temp was at 210. max temp on gauge is 260. car runs normally at 180 w/o any type of cooling prob.
over last 3 days i let it idle from a complete cold start to normal running temp (180) checking for the fan to come on. Fan failed both times.
thermostat is good. oil pressure is good. alternator & belt are only 3 wks old. batt is fine. think my solenoid is dying. hoping it hangs in til after holidays.
not sure if i did jumper wire test correctly, but the fan motor plug in made the light bulb come on inside the test light i used. and i dont know where to find the fan relay or what else to test. Please tell me where to look and i will get on it.
figured out what master cyclinder is, & tried again to find fan relay, but im still not sure. i need help.
dont know if this is related to my problem, but ....
i checked the fuses, ALL of them. ACC was blown(25) replaced it, blew again. replaced again, blew again. replaced w/ lower fuse (20), it blew.
this was all within 5 mins. i connected /disconnected the neg batt each time
any explanation you could give me would be great. tell me some details too, because i dont have a chilton. thats a whole other story!!! LOL
Thank you, Kimberley. (will check back 8-9pm pst)

I was told that's not good because those electric fans will burn out. I use to drive my car to chattanooga all the time, until that happened. You need to buy the book "Chevy TPI Fuel Injection Swapper's Guide" by John Baechtel. Try books a million or Barnes and Noble, you may have to order it. It's well worth $20.00

Re: Electric fan
My aux fan (pass side) was staying on like that and it turned out to be the switch in the passenger side head. I replaced the switch and now it works normally again.

Re: Electric fan
well with your fuses blowing that quick you have a short somewhere check your cig lighter you might have something down in there, sometimes pennies or anything in that matter gets stuck down there causin the fuse to blow, now on your fans you might have a bad relay as you said now i can email you a picture of the engine bay and shows where all the relays and switches and i guess just go and check off one by one might just end up being a bad temp switch, you also might want to check in the back of the fuse panel to make sure all the wires are making good contact to the fuses. if you have any other questions feel free to message me
