Where is my fan switch?

Im having overheating problems with my 92 RS 3.1 V6 and cant figure out where the hell my fan switch is. Or does it even have a fan switch? I had it straight wired but over time that melted my steerting column harness and ignition switch so thats out. I replaced the temp sensor and thermostat and still nothing. I think the fan relay is working but I will be buying a new one anyway. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks

Re: Where is my fan switch?

Ok, here's what I found for the 3.1... It seems to indicate that the fan is controlled by the ECM, which gets it's info from the sensor "in the top front of the intake..." Which is probably the one you replaced already... Sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully someone can fill in where I left off.

Re: Where is my fan switch?

I really appreciate the help though. I guess Im gonna go ahead and order a new relay and if that doesnt work then Im gonna try the manual fan switch thing inside the car. If i do go that route would my service engine light come on?

Nope.

A manual fan switch will not make your SES illuminate.

I have a manual fan switch among other things.

Everybody that sees driver’s compartment calls it James Bond.

Anyway even with the switch, maintain the sensor control of the fan in case you forget to manually override.
