Damn fan switch

Is the fan switch the same as the sending unit for the temp gauge? If not, what is the autozone part number for the temp gauge sending unit and pig tail? Thanks for the help in advance.

Re: Damn fan switch

they should be able to tell you, ask for a fan switch, if thats what you need, or a temp sensor, if thats what you need. they are 2 different items.

the temp sensor is on the driver side of the block, the fan switch is on the passenger side.

Re: Damn fan switch

I have a sensor on the right side of my radiator about half way down. It isn't plugged into anything. Does anyone know what it is for?

Re: Damn fan switch

There is nothing plugged into the sensor on the passenger's side! Darn it, I can't find any wiring that is unplugged. Can someone take a picture of the connector and wiring. I need help.

Re: Damn fan switch

I just finished dealing with this stuff on my car. What year and engine do you have in your car?
Mine has the dual fan setup. The radiator fan switch on the passenger side between cylinders 6 and 8 is for the secondary fan. It causes the fan to come on at 235*. The plug has a single wire that comes out. I think the stock wire color is gray and it goes to the secondary fan relay.
