Re: Oil Cooler question
i have an aftermarket heavyduty oil cooler on my car. When i change my oil, its still amber color. Not sure about the factory setup, probably not as good as it cold be.
The cooler is not really needed, but i can help increase oil life.

Re: Oil Cooler question
I installed an oil cooler system on my z28 14 yrs ago
-one of my favorite add-ons,oil lasts longer, helps with
cooling,no doubt rubber parts in engine last longer as
i keep oil around 220* intead of 260-280 it would
sometimes get to.Oil cooler not needed for street use,
but i would install one for any endurance racing or
highway driving in hot weather. Most of my setup was
adapted from a 1983 cop impala-used the impala oil
filter adaptor(ported it for better flow)ran aeroquip
braided lines to oil radiator mounted in charcoal
canister area, airflow for the oil radiator is provided
by a specially made 8"electric fan that is switched
by a thermostat in the oil pan(a std GM fan switch,
man. overide too) After realizing the benefits of the
oil cooler on my car and driving situations,i would
not run without it
