Re: tpi cooling lines

Hey did you ever figure this out? I just realized my car has the same issue...except the line next to the thermostat housing runs down to a funnel that's screwed to the air dam, and the one that comes out the passenger side is just a cut off hose.

One of the Pass side of the TB goes to the heater switch. The stock hose on the bottom of the TB is in the shape of a "U". Comes out of the TB, 180* to a nipple in the front of the IM.

Re: tpi cooling lines

You shouldn't need a TB heater unless you plan on driving when the temp is below zero. Their only purpose is to prevent the TB from freezing.

Re: tpi cooling lines

Thanks Keoman. So is that all those hoses are is a tb heater? Why would the PO put that hose/ funnel deal on there - maybe some attempt at a cold air intake to cool the air going through the tb? Can I just cap these off to make it neater or is this rig actually doing something?

Yes it is for heating the TB. If you are going to bypass it, I would suggest this route.

You may run into problems in the sub 32* temperatures this way however.
