Trying to remove water pump cant remove ps bracket

Hi Guys,
I have an 87 iroc, 305 tpi, ac. I've gotten all of the brackets off to remove my water pump except the ps bracket. How do I do this? I can't get this thing off. I see three bolts, 1 bottom, 1 block , and 1 into water pump. Is there anyone?
Thanks

Does anyone have a response to this thread? I am in the exact same spot, also with the same vehicle as aforementioned.

Re: Trying to remove water pump cant remove ps bracket

Hi, you caught me online. I was able to get the bracket to move out of the way. Just loosen them up as much as possible and you can swing it away. I may be a little hard if it hasn't been moved in a while but you will be able to do it. It worked for me.

Re: Trying to remove water pump cant remove ps bracket

That's my issue, the bracket/pump assembly won't swing at all. I have removed the top nut that hinges the pump assembly in place, the bolt below it that allows for sideways adjustment, along with the bolt on the other side that allows for vertical movement.

NOTHING.

I need to figure out how to get the power steering pump to move as I need to replace the belt and reduce the slack that will keep the new belt from slipping....

Maybe I need to post some pix of where I currently am?

Re: Trying to remove water pump cant remove ps bracket

that bracket setup is one of the most pointlessly convoluted things GM has ever done... a swap to the 68-75 setup really simplifies things.

Or, a serpentine set up.
