low temp fan switch

so the other day i got a low temp fanswitch
hypertech brand and for some reason it didnt fit instead of my old one
and i compared between both of them and it seems that the hypertech switch has a bigger tread then the stock one
i saw that jet also makes these but i dont want to ordere it and the hastle of draining the coolant from the block
any ideas??...has anyone ran into the same problem?
i have 88 iroc z with the 305 tpi

You sure you have the 305? double check the part number, also you might want to go to your local auto parts store and compare one of theirs with the one you bought and see if they're the same or are different, possibility that this engine may not be what you thought you had... ... at the auto parts store they can then perhaps help you narrow a specific year that your car will happily accept...

first of all...this is my 4th 3rd gen camaro that i owned so im pritty sure i know the make and model to my car not to mention the engine type...and i know this is the original engine cause i bought it from the guy that actually got the cae from the dealer back in 88...cant go wrong with that
also i know its the 305 because the 350 didnt came with the 5 speed and mine is a 5 speed
second....i actually got the switch from the auto parts store and the part number matched the part number online as well....so i dont know whats going on
i might try the jet kind fan switch and hopefully its gonna fit

well then ... go back to the auto parts store and tell them to pull another switch, cuz the one they gave you apparently is packaged wrong... double check with an OEM version...

Re: low temp fan switch

I used to buy the cool fan switch from GM. The part # is 3053190, discontinued now, but Collectors Auto Supply has them,
