Dual Fan from 87 up fit in an 86?
I'm wondering if the upper and lower mounting shrouds from the dual fan setup will fit into my 86 (which has the single fan).
Thanks to anyone who knows the answer.

Thank you JamesC, so those hard lines down there underneath the front clip weren't in your way at all? Was it a simple bolt in and voila, or did you have to drill or move anything out of your way?

I bought the shroud and lower bracket from the dealer for my dual fan setup for my 86. Bolted on just fine.

I'll have to check again, but I swore I saw some metal hard lines, on my car, running across that area that the lower dual fan mount bolts into.
It was dark, and I couldn't tell where those lines go. I wonder if those are my a/c lines. I removed my entire a/c system, and maybe I still have to remove those lines.
I'll let you guys know what they are here in a bit.

Ah, thank you for that pic. I thought I'd have to totally remove that line, to get the lower shroud on. It's always weird, until you actually get the parts and start tearing into it.

Got mine from an 89 trans am, worked great NEVER overheated once with these, i used to overheat all the time before installing these 3 years ago.. Funny thing is, i just took a drive back from work today and my fans stopped working!! I swear this is just a funny coincidence, but im sure there's something else wrong, the temp got up to 240 and i just made it home. The coolant bottle was almost about the burst lol... Gotta check that out before driving it again.. But as for dual fans, you won't regret it and it fits perfect dude..

Re: Dual Fan from 87 up fit in an 86?
Here is what I am going to do to fix my problem. I am going to use the existing wiring from the torq flo relay kit and just plug that into a painless sensor switch that will be screwed into a coupling (sensor T) that is inline on my top radiator hose. This way, the coolant will actually touch the switch, and this will be hooked into a dual fan unit from a later model Camaro. The torq flo has provisions for dual fans.
The sensor will turn the fans on at 185 and off at 170. This should work well.
