Heater Valve?? Heater Core Bypass??

Hey Guys newb here. Sorry in advance if this question may be a repeat from elsewhere..
Chevy 305 tbi by the way
Two questions..
1.) Where is the vaccum line connected to the water/heater valve connected to?
2.) ON my tbi how can I just bypass that water valve and also bypass the heater core? what do I plug or reroute?
Pics are worth a thousand words.. heh.
Any feedback appreciated.

Re: Heater Valve?? Heater Core Bypass??

The vac line runs to the heater controls. When you switch to AC it controls the valve to close off the flow of hot water through the heater core, this improves AC cooling.

What to plug/reroute depends on whether you have the KC4 engine cooler or not if you want to completely remove the lines. Otherwise just pull the in and outgoing line on the heater box and connect those 2.

Re: Heater Valve?? Heater Core Bypass??

On my 305 TBI, the water coming out of the top rear of the intake goes to the valve which either runs it through the heater core or down to that metal tube that returns it to the radiator which is where the water going through the heater core comes out as well. So basically to bypass all that seems like you need to get a hose to go from the intake outlet to that radiator inlet location. Does this sound right anybody?

Yes, that would be correct for a non KC4 cooler setup.
