Water Pump Help
Hello everyone. I've been trying to replace the water pump on my 86 firebird 5.0L and am having trouble getting one of the bolts to fit on easily. My main problem is getting the bottom right bolt in because the PS bracket is in the way.
Do I need to remove the PS pump/bracket so I can easily attach it or is there another way to get to it??
I've tried fixing it once already(a couple days ago) and didn't get the gaskets on quite right so I figured I'd ask for advice before forging on again. I should use the silicon sealant on both sides of the gasket right?
Thanks.

Re: Water Pump Help
I was able to get all 4 bolts on my 89 Camaro 5.0L no problem. You shouldn't need silicon, I used Indian head sealant.

Works great on a lot, you don't need to put a lot either, a light coat will do fine.

Re: Water Pump Help
Thanks, I got it to work this evening on my first try. I just attached the 3 bolts that were easily accessible first. That bottom right bolt was a pain to get but I was able to get a socket on it after a couple hand revolutions. It's a very tight fit, but much easier than removing the PS pump. Thanks for your help.
