No fan with no ignition and hot engine

Ive been having trouble with the cooling fan. It works correctly with the ignition on. The fan will turn on when the engine gets hot enough. It will also run constant when the A/C is switched to on. Yet, when the ignition is turned off, isn't the fan supposed to stay on until the engine cools to the designated temperature?

If so, what could be causing this?

Thanks

Re: No fan with no ignition and hot engine

No, the relay is ignition switched, the fan turns off w/ the ignition. With the water pump not pumping there is little cooling thata running fan would do. It is true that afetr turning the engine off heat soaking will spike the coolant temperatuer. This is why serious race cars have a cool down unit attached via a quick disconnect.

Yours is working the way it should.
