Any were over 220
If my car goes over 220 when driving and i shut it off within 5 mins of it going over 220 even if it dropped lower. IT WILL NOT START!
Now if i wait for a hour wam bam thank you ma'am it starts.
Or check this out if i jump start it it will start right up.
The battery is new and cranks the motor fine. It is not the batterys fault.
One of my buddys told me it could be the coil on the starter.
Any Ideas Fixes

Could also be the Ignition Control Module in the distributor - it's an electronic part and they don't like heat, eventually they wear out. That's a $30 fix to try before spending $90 on a new starter. And I've read they can be tested, but I've never tried - call autozone or advance and ask them about testing a ICM for free and see if they can.

Are LG4's carb or fuel injection? If FI, I'd do an ohm check on the injectors. If the injectors ohm low (12 ohms or less), you'll get an ultra lean condition when the engine is warmed up. Makes starting it impossible until the engine cools off.

Sounds like it is a common thing for you, judging by you asking. Is it?
I would look into your cooling system & prevent it from getting over 220 to begin with, before I would worry about an restarting issue.

Well it is at a shop right now getting the carb rebuilt and tuned for emissions.
When it gets home i have a new radiator and thermostat that im gonna drop in.
Just started working on it last month bought for 200. It is a mess.
LG4 has quadrojet carb or atleast mine does

When it gets hot and doesn't start next time, carefully get under the car and smack the starter solenoid metal housing a few times, not with massive force, just a couple of good hard taps. Usually (not always but most of the time), if the solenoid is getting locked up from the heat this will free it and it will start. I had this happen years ago on my old 305, after changing the starter the problem was solved.
