still have coolant..

I installed a knock sensor yesterday but when the old one came out only a couple of quarts of coolant came out... Doesn't it drain the whole thing or am I wrong?

If your goal is to drain the block, you'll need to remove the two block drain plugs. One on each side. Otherwise, just removing the knock sensor will only partially drain the block and some coolant from the head and intake coolant passages below the (closed when cold) t-stat.

The knock sensor is the drain plug on that side.
