Turn A/C Off and Car Dies
hello guys like the title says i turn off the a/c and the idle drops then the car dies, i dont have any idea whats wrong ,has any one had this issue before? and what was done to correct the this problem.any help would gradly be appreciated.thanks

What engine is in your car?
The only real thing I can think of is that the earlier model thirdgens with rochester carburetors have a solenoid that bumps the throttle lever up, so when the AC is on the engine doesnt drop in RPM's too drastically. Maybe your idle is just too low to keep the engine running while that solenoid isn't engaged? I am not sure what engine your car has, or what year it is so I am just taking a shot in the dark on this one.

All the cars had a throttle increase mechanism of some sort for the A/C - later cars got it from the ECM bumping up timing or fuel from readings on the high pressure switch in the A/C line.

its on my 89 camaro 305 tbi, my guess is the IAC i notice today when ever i come to a stop idle drops and acts like it wants to die then the idle comes back up 500rpms
