Re: Need a Fan
Ok none of those are the Original style fans. The 2nd option would have to be modified to even fit. The first and third options are both universal fits. I would run the dual fan setup because they cover more of the radiator and therefore pull more air thorugh it to cool it down. Now you have to measure your radiator and get the fan measurements to make sure it'll work properly. I am assuming you have the upper radiator mount? the stock fan bolts onto that. You can also find a stock setup at a junkyard.

Re: Need a Fan
Mechanical fan? Why? Get so much better cooling with an electrical fan. Besides, 1988 cars didn't have a mechanical fan option - they were all electric. Mechanical fan requires a shroud, different water pump setup maybe (1988 car has serpentine, so a reverse flow water pump) ... ie too much trouble for less cfms.
Any aftermarket fan that fits the radiator will be fine - get the most cfm's for your dollar. Even the stock fan is fine if you have the factory top and bottom pieces to bolt it to. Otherwise, all the aftermarket fans usually come with ties that run through the radiator fins to 'strap' them directly to the radiator.
I'd also highly recommend a seperate fan controller, adjustable if you can afford. They probe the radiator, don't use any of the factory wiring, and work so much better than the factory fan switch/relay set-up. I run a Flex-a-lite model, $90 with all the bells and whistles it has, but well worth it.

Re: Need a Fan
Not with a seperate fan controller - it comes with a probe that sticks inbetween the rad fins to get temps.

$40 - $100+. Here's the one I run: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/FLX-31165/?rtype=10 (price went up a bit since I bought it). Flex-a-lite makes several different ones, price comes down to the bells & whistles. Basic models available on the shelf at autozone/advance/whatever, but generally not adjustable.
