overheating problem, dual fans are working

hi i have a 305 1986 iroc z28 camaro. i currently have an overheating problem. my dual fans do come on around 220 degrees, both running. however the temperature still rises. once i put the max heat on, the temperature starts to decrease. unfortunalty running the max heat in 85 degree weather outside is not the most comforting. the thermostat was replaced about 4 months ago, and the problem still remained. any suggestions?

Try a new radiator cap - cheap easy attempt that is seldom thought of, but very important to the system.

Mine also ran hot all the time, I replaced the radiator and the relay (the relay is in the front passenger side right behind the headlight, follow the wires from the radiator) which seemed to help, but the biggest thing was the water pump, once i changed it, the car runs excellent now, even on a real humid day, it runs perfect. i can even run the a/c without problems.

Plus the water pump was only $26 at advance auto and its easy to replace.
