Re: Heater core replacement
You can pull the lower panel off from under the dash & reach up to get to it. Onl1 hidden screw really, the one on top, but just some good felling around with your fingers will get you to the "hidden" screw.
Other than that, just the 2 hoses in the compartment on the firewall in the engine compartment to reach.
But contact a mechanic or friend about the cost to have it done. I've done it several times before & as "easy" as it is? I chose to just pay someone to do it for me this last time.

Re: Heater core replacement
Sorry about that. Yeah, passenger side.
Pull that panel off, look up & you'll find a plastic "box" that covers the heater core for the AC/Heater air to flow around it. That box is the one with the "hidden" screw. Not visible by line of sight. Only found by touch. And be ready to have some water spill out onto your carpet, as you wrestle the core out. Just be easy putting the new one in. Don't wanna crack the solder & have your new one leak to.

now you can remove the 2 visible screws on the ehater core cover. Next, lay upside down on your passenger seat wit your head facing the front. You need a long extension to get 1 screw and a short extension for the other
Oh, disconnect the neg battery cable before you begin
once you get those 4 screws out, go take off the 2 heater hoses. Push ion on the metal tubes and the core will pop free. Go back in the car and wiggle it out.
get the repalcement core at Adv auto, they work just fine.
remove the plastic cover from the old core but do not reinstall it onto the new core. Place the foam tape which comes with the core onto the new core. Without the pastic cover, slide the new core into position. Connect the hoses. Now, put the cover on. It will snug up due to the foam tape. Use 3 screws forgetting the hard to reach top right one and put the cover back on.
reinstall the rest of the stuff, pat yourself on the back for using the shortcuts.

Re: Heater core replacement
If you are patient enough to spend about half an hour fiddling with the top screw, using cigarettes and extensions plus a few choice words at your disposal, you don't have to put it back in when you replace the cover and you can avoid breaking anything.
That's what I did...
