CSR electric water pump

I just bought a CSR electric water pump for a sbc. I just wanted to see what guys are doing to run them.. Should I be using some kind of relay and power it seperate with a swtch, or can i wire it in somewhere in the fuse box to power on when the key is on? Any help would be great Thanks.

Re: CSR electric water pump

I just received a proform electric pump today, and it had no instructions. I am going to wire it into a 30amp relay and tie it into my holley hp efi ecu for power once ignition is on, along with my dual fans on the radiator.

Re: CSR electric water pump

I love the thing, I can hop into my car, fire it up and drive off like stock. Except I am far from stock. HP EFI has so many little tricks you can wire it up for as well. I think there is a total of four i/o's you can use for whatever. I use one for a shift light, one for fan/waterpump on off. It is configured to be on with ignition, off for cranking, then back on once engine is running.
I am saving another i/o wire for the meth injection.
