What amp fuse to use for cooling fan motor?

2 months ago I had a new cooling fan motor installed on my '86 Trans Am. Today, a fuse blew out and made the fan stop running. I noticied that the fuse was only a 20 amp fuse. Is this correct? Should I be using a 30 amp fuse? Thanks.

Twenty Is Plenty

20 is fine for all stock types of fans.

If the fuse keeps blowing install a 25 amp fuse for the 20, then install a 20 amp fuse as close to the fan as possible.

Now if one blows it will help with diagnosis.
