Fan relay same for 88firebird 5.0 and 91 v6 firebird?

My fan stopped working recently so I bought a new relay from Autozone and popped my hood to do it. Popped the plug out of the relay and the plug it self was all melted on the inside. So today I went to the local pick n pull and could only find one for a 91 firebird. Not sure what size motor but it is a v6. It is a single fan setup like mine. Only thing that I found diff is the size of the wire on 2 of the wires to the plug are bigger size on my melted one. Also on the plug it self it's has a number it says PED 16 on the 91 it says PED 14. Thanks for input all

Relay is the same. You can extract the old wire and terminal out of your melted connector and stick it into your used connector to preserve the correct gauge of wire.

The proper way to do it is get an extractor tool from an auto parts store, it will only be a few bucks. Or, since your connector is melted anyway, I would just crush and clip the old plastic part of the connector apart with assorted pliers until it surrenders the terminal.

It looks like a tiny flat head screwdriver. You stick it into the end of the connector to depress the locking tab on the terminal so you can get the wire and terminal out of the plastic part of the connector.

Ok thank you for explaining what it looks like and how it goes. I'll be sure to go and get one tomorrow and put this plug on my relay see how it goes. I'll post my results. Thank you for your input.
