Hayden 3651 fan controller clicks constantly...

Like it says; it works great but when it gets the temp to turn on the fan the relay clicks on and off rapidly until it gets out of the temp range that turns it on. I searched and found others with the same problem on this board and other boards but no one with a solution. I have triple checked the wiring. Anyone?

I found out the problem which will have a full explaination in the aftermarket vendor review section. The circuit board is messed up per Hayden. Summit is accepting the warranty return and refunding me. I upgraded to a Dakota Digital as I will not buy another Hayden product due to horrible customer service.

Sounds like an under-cooked design - needs refining with some hysteresis - the switch-off point should be a few degrees lower than the switch-on point, to avoid this kind of cycling.

I can sum up this issue with two words. THEY SUCK. I put dual 10 in fans on the front of my condensor to assist my factory fan. In six months time and about 3000 miles I replaced my controller twice before wiring up two toggle switches. I took my ashtray out made a plate out of 16 gauge sheet metal the same design as the ashtray. Painted it up put my switches in the plate and double sided taped in into the console. Looks clean and is removable with no holes left behind.

I am going to see how this Dakota Digital unit does. I have had toggles in others cars without a problem. I was wanting to do this to get some automation with choices. I am hoping since the DD unit was made in America it will be quality. The Hayden thing was pretty rinky dink. Should have known the price was too good to be true.
