Hypertech Thermo chips

Does anyone know if there is any credence to the benfits of using one of these chips & the associated 160 degree thermostat. I guess it makes sense that a cooler running engine would perform better but then why didnt Pontiac design the whole thing to run at 160 instead of 190? Thanks!

because of emissions. Cleaner emissions with a 195 thermo.

your transmission would prob last longer with a 160,but IMO that is too cold and your heat will be weak
