Removing Fan from Motor
Does anyone know the procedure to remove the fan blades from the fan motor? They are reverse threads, but how do you hold the motor shaft from spinning while turning the fan blade retention nut? There doesn't appear to be an indexing hole to hold the motor shaft from rotating.
Thanks for your help.

Tried that, but the the shaft still spins. Possibility that the little tabs behind the "venturei ring" are snapped off, so there is no restriction to the shaft?
The shaft nuts are pretty rusted too, so tried a penetrating oil with an impact. No luck.

The venturi ring is what I'm holding. I don't recall if the single fans just have a key way (flat spot) on the motor shaft. My dual fans have the hub as shown.
Assuming you're doing this because the motor is shot, I'd probably try drilling the motor casing (not sure how well magnets drill) an into the armature to pin it with a screwdriver/bolt.

I think it is the same set up as yours...dual fan set up. Just trying to dismantle and clean them up. I appreciate your time.
