cooling fan wire burned up
i recently noticed one of my fans were not working so I trouble shot this issue and the wire burned along with one of my ignition wires. someone did install a aftermarket alarm and used t-taps at this location. Is it possible that cutting some of the strands caused the wires to burn up or could there be bigger issues? I just picked up a fused link to fix the fan wire what size fuse should i use for one fan. the fuse under the dash is a 25 for both fans. I dont want to have too small of a fuse and blow it all the time and I dont want one too big in case there is an issue with the fan pulling too much current.

Re: cooling fan wire burned up
Fan was bad but still worked sucking too much current. Advance auto Parts had a motor in stock without having to rewire just plug and play. It is now working great 10 minutes to change fan motor. What I dont understand is why it fried the wire instead of blowing the fuse. Any ideas

Maybe someone who worked on it before has installed a higher amp. fuse than is suppose to be in there.

Re: cooling fan wire burned up
under the dash there is a 25 amp fuse in the fan slot when I was testing I pulled the fuse out and the passenger fan turned off but I dont know if the driver side is fused there. I need a diagram to see why they are double fused and it still burned the wire.
