Between 180 and 195 if your system is up to it.

Thats what its been at, But lately my car has been in the 210-225 area. and it will slowly cool back down to 180-195 when at idle. air dam is fine could it be my water pump internals? I dropped a new 180 stat today and its the same. Radiators 1 year old (autozone special) and its holding its pressure. The only thing I can think of is the water pump...it looks origional I dunno. whats ur thoughts?

I pulled the belt off and checked the water pump pully, I have some play in it. from what I understand there should be NO play in the pully correct?

Check the weep hole in the bottom of the water pump. If there is any coolant leaking from it, that's also a good sign your pump is going out. Regarding the pulley, my new pump had no play in it. I don't think it should be much if any.

The car is NOT overheating, its just running hotter than it normally does, I have NO coolant loss. I just drove it for 1.5 hrs and the temp stayed between 200-210, normally its 180-195. I pulled the belt off again, I do have some play in the waterpump so I picked up a new one. But what also concerned me was the pully below the A/C compressor and Tension Pully...that Pully Binds up at a 1/4 turn and breaks free and binds up again what is this pully and is that normal function for it? could this be why im running a little hotter?

You're not overheating, your heat is just over what it should be?

The water pump shaft should not have any significant amount of play.

The pulley you refer to is on the air pump. It has a cycle of resistance, but as long as it can be easily turned it is fine. In my experience when they seize up they tend to do it in style.

Over heating but not a dangerous overheating, it wont climb to weher i have to pull over. So that resistance in that air pump is normal?

I replaced the waterpump, I drove it around for about 20 min. to test it out, Its night time so its alot cooler out but it still went up to about 210. I cant figure this out its strange and after I park and let it run it will drop back slowly to 195. Any ideas?
