Thinking about replacing Water Pump and Radiator.......??1
So I got my 84 Z28 5-speed, and I believe my water pump has gone bad on it since I am hearing it kinda rattle when i turn on the car, and I was also wondering on wether or not I should replace the radiator, its kinda rusty in the inside, but I just arent sure on wether I shuld drop more money onto replacing it....and if so anyone got any suggestions for the best bang for my buck as in water pumps and radiator...my budget is prov $200 for both of them, thanks....I am a college student as well...

Brand new water pump no reman! Mine went out and what a difference it made once it was fixed. Not only that the reman need modifying I think it was going out for a while. So is there play in the pulley on the water pump? Is there vibration when you put a long tool to it? Is the car over heating? Is that why you want to replace the Radiator? Might be something else. Depending on what is going on with the car.

Rent a cooling system pressure tester a autozone, find the leak.
Remove the belts & feel the w/p, alt, air pump, ect for loose bearings or rough when turning them.

Try a new radiator cap first. It should be routinely replaced and as it fails, it will allow the overflow tank to fail below rated pressure.
New water pump and new radiator can be had for under $200. When the water pump fails it will begin to seep coolant from the weep hole under the snout.
