Need help!

My car overheated the other day, i was driving it on the freeway for about 20ish minutes with the A/C on. got to my destination and my car was sitting in the parking lot for around 25 minutes. then i attempted to make the 20 minute drive back home, but 5 min into the drive i had to exit the freeway seeing my temperature gauge at it's max. once the car was parked smoke started coming from the hood and the engine coolant was bubbling.
What do u thing could be causing this?
I have a 83 camaro, it's its first time doing something like this, alltho i really havn't drove it that far on the freeway before all in one trip like that.

Thanx

Re: Need help!

you have to jack the car up, get a drip pan under the oil pan drain plug, take the plug out, and let the oil drain. after all the oil drips out you have to put the plug back into the pan then remove the oil filter, install a NEW filter, hand tight. then go up top, pop the oil fill plug off the valve cover and fill. if the coolent is low it either has a major leak from one of the hoses busting, head gasket failure, heater core failure. need to check both the radiators hoses and the heater core hoses.

Re: Need help!

I refilled my engine coolant, and had some one take a loot at it. He said that it's the Thermostat ( Pic). So i picked one up for about 10$ and now im about to pop this mug in!!
