Low Temperature Reading

Hi

Wonder if any one can help me - when I first start the car (from cold) the temperature gage slowly climbs as you would expect to mid point between 100 and 220. However once it reaches running temperature it drops down again to just above 100.

Also I there is very hot air coming through the vents when switched to hot / heater etc.

Could both of these be due a faulty thermostat?

Thanks

Re: Low Temperature Reading

The temperature dropping like that is the thermostat opening. After that the temps will slowly go back up to normal operating temps
