Need help with passenger cooling fan

My camaro was hit in the passenger side and since then the passenger fan has not turned on,i have replaced the coolant fan switch(which was burned up)with a bwd coolant fan switch and i have replaced the coolant temp sensor on the front of the intake with a bwd also, and i have tried new relays,i am also ordering a new ac delco coolant fan switch, and the connector that goes to it,is there anything i can check to see what it is before i take it in to the dealership?and i have let the car get up to temp past the 220 mark almost to the red and it still wont turn on.

Re: Need help with passenger cooling fan

Put direct power to the fan and make sure it is working. If it is, and the new ac-delco switch doesn't do the trick, start checking wiring on the passenger side for any damaged wiring.

Seems like you just diagnosed the problem.

The fan switch is designed to turn on at 238°.

You can test it with cooking oil on the kitchen range and a thermometer to make sure it closes no hotter than 248°
(10° for tolerance).

However if 238° is too hot for your purposes you can install a switch which turns on at a lower temp.

Happy Racing!

Re: Welcome To The Fan Club

I had a friend who is a ASE mechanic the compressor is leaking out the front, and loosing freon and for the passenger side fan to turn on the pressure in the compressor has to be a certain pressure to turn it on.
