aluminum 3 row radiator or a stock radiator
okay so I live in Phoenix Arizona and the temperature out here gets off to 117 to about 120 lately.. with that being said my 92 z 28 has been getting a little hot.. I already had my mind set on buying a brand new 3 Row aluminum champion radiator .. and today I took my car to the shop just to make sure it was my radiator that wasn't flowing good enoug.. he said yes indeed my radiator was clogged and he recommended a new one I told him about the aluminum 3 row and if it was better to get that tgen stoc. he told me don't waste my money on the champion radiator the difference between the aluminum 3 Row and a stock radiator is that the aluminum one just hold more water but same performance is true...?

He must think that plastic gives off the same amount of heat as aluminum......Anybody who has ever replaced their shifter **** with an aluminum **** will tell you different.
I have the 3 core aluminum Champion and have noticed a good difference between it vs the stock one. My advice? Get the aluminum Champion.
At 117°, pretty much any cooling system is going to be stressed. It was 107° last weekend here in Houston. But with the 30% humidity, it gave a heat index of 115°. I managed to get up to 195° on the highway with the A/C on. Turning the A/C off would drop the temp to 190°. (I have a 180° thermostat)
In the city at 100° temps (plus humidity, which is harder to shed heat to) I've seen the 3 core go to 200°. The stock radiator would be running at 220-225° in these same conditions (rush hour traffic, stop and go, long red lights)

I would recommend you go with the Champion as well.
I have their 2 core and my motor runs much cooler than with the stock 1 core.

that is exactly what I was thinking I just wanted to make sure.. I need to do something fast because my car gets up to 240° only in traffic with those long red lights and I rarely catch the highway.. also the stock dual fans that I have will they be a direct fit or will I have to modify anything besides the rubber mounts?

I had to put a nut on the the upper fan mount holes to extend them outwards from the radiator a bit. It did actually clear with just putting the fans back on without the nuts and bolting them in. But it was a paper thin clearance. With the nuts added in, it keeps the fans well clear of the radiator.

What the hell was that dude on? If the only difference is that it holds more water with no performance gains why don't race teams use stock parts??
Lol. But yeah I agree with everyone else, go with the Champion. Unless you build your own, thats what I plan on doing
