Serpentine AC Conversion Question
I've swapped over my old V belts to a serpentine belt set up from an 88 firebird. My question is, when buying parts, obviously the compressor is from an 88, but what other parts do I need to buy are from an 88?
Can I just buy everything else, such as orifice tube/expansion valve for an 84?
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I've read a lot about the ford "blue" orifice tubes, does anyone have a good part numbers for these non-gm parts that work?

If My Engine Has An Illegal Part, And The Inspector Doesn’t Hear It, Does It Make A Sound?

Most of the parts are all interchangable. I just did this conversion last spring, one thing I will say is if your going to be running r134 I recommend getting the brace that runs between the A/C pump and the exaust manifold. The pump will resonate quite a bit through the car at idle, after a while it will drive you crazy sitting in traffic and long lights, not to mension it will help reinforce the aluminum bracket.
Take a look at rockauto.com, if you want to know for sure you can compare the part numbers accross the different years. If you haven't already get one of the 6mm picollo condensors, they're pretty cheap and will make a difference in cooling.

I can't run the brace with headers, it won't fit.

Re: Serpentine AC Conversion Question
I know header designs vary a little but i would think that the pipe for #2 would be the same. mine isn't a perfect but if your header clearance is tighter they may pose a problem.

I'm running a serp system with Hooker headers. You might check post #16 and 17 of the following link for pics:

In the above link there's a parts list (second link, first post) and instruction guide that might prove useful.
