Cooling fan switch
I have a 1987 iroc with a 350 TPI 5 speed and I'm trying to find out where the cooling fan switch is located. It seams to turn the fan on intermittently I think the cooling fan switch is going I changes the coolant temp sensor located under the throttle body thinking that was it but it hasn't fix the problem so I changed the fan relay but still no luck. Can any one offer any help.

Re: Cooling fan switch
I just did a thread on this myself. Located on passenger side of engine, between spark plugs 6 & 8.

Can you help identify this sensor?

Re: Cooling fan switch
If its not the sensor in the head, check the relay and make sure when you jumper power to the fan from the relay socket it turns on and stays on. Also might check for the grounds at the back of cylinder heads and front passenger side of the block. Make sure the connection at the fan doesn't jiggle.
