The Project
Has a Mishimoto, maybe ask him if he has done a mock-up.
He's doing a great job on his rebuild!

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

The only concern I have is the rad filler neck where the cap goes on. It does not appear to be welded on from the pics. If it is epoxied on, that is a potential failure point.
I would ask the company how that filler neck is secured before I ordered.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

Hey everyone, thought I'd jump in here to help clear up any questions about our products. This radiator is a direct-fit into the Camaro, and will not require any modification. It is also a 3 row core, with all-aluminum construction, and is fully TIG welded. This will allow for increased reliability and cooling efficiency.

To answer Joshc's question, yes our fill neck is welded onto the radiator. It is welded from the inside to give it a cleaner overall look.

As Tuned Performance pointed out, we do have a lifetime warranty on all of our products! This can save you from any headaches, since this will be the last radiator you will need to purchase for this car.

Please let me know if there are any other questions, as I would be happy to help!

Thanks,
Tyler

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

Tyler Does it take a standard Rad cap if I need to replace it? The Sticky up top is about bolt in Rad and they are not always just a bolt in affair.

Mishimoto I sent you a PM also.

We have not confirmed fitment of the stock rad cap for this specific radiator, but it should fit. Though, if there are any issues with the radiator cap, it will be covered under our lifetime warranty, so you shouldn't have to worry.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

None of the Reviews seem to be about our cars. Do to the Champion Radiator Sticky above I am leaning toward one of there Rads, I have spoken with there Support staff and they were very Helpful. I just don't know if I am willing to take the chance on this Rad since it is over a $100.00 more. If the Price was closer maybe I would.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

IMO , The warranty is worth the extra $100. The Champion requires the top and bottom rubber mounts to be cut down so the radiator hold down can be reinstalled.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

Thanks for replying Tyler, with the welded neck, it looks like a top notch rad!
Hopefully someone tries one and lets us know how it fits.
I put a Champion in my TA last year and have been happy with it, but did have to modify the rubber mount saddles to get it to fit. If the Mishimoto fits without mods, it sounds like a good deal.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

I am looking at this radiator as a replacement for my oem (and broken) radiator.

I have several questions though. What is the tube diameter on the Mishimoto radiator? Champions equivalent 3 core only has .63 inch diameter tubes, the Superior Radiator (2 core) has 1 inch tubes, as well as Summits own Radiator (2 core). And does the stock single electric fan and shroud work with the Mishimoto radiator? Superior Radiator says OEM fans and shrouds bolt right on.

Thanks for the kind words.

Mishimoto rad is a quality piece. Mock up was spot on the will fit my 4th gen dual fans perfectly.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

Tyler, I am looking at several combinations and the only shortfall on the Mish is the need of high flow fans. looking at the Mish website I do not find a combo with the rad that flows high over 3000 cfm. Maybe I am missing something. Do agree all with the fit and finish of the product..just need a complete combo for show and race car combo. I'll be pushing 750hp with supercharger. I have spent numerous hours on many forums and reading way too many articles..so I'm tired of reading and ready to pull the trigger..
I bought the Flexlit setup but realized when I got it, it doesn't not have built in trans cooler.

It looks like each tube is approximately .60 inch in diameter. Yes, OEM fans will mount directly onto the radiator.

Rebsta, thanks for the post. Unfortunately, we do not offer a single fan set-up that has a CFM rating of 3000 or more. The core size looks like it would be able to house two 12" slim fans. Two 12" slim Mishimoto fans has a CFM rating 2300.

Re: Anyone try Or know about the Mishimoto Alumium Radiator?

The idea of upgrading the radiator has crossed my mind. I am guessing the price of the radiator would be in the ballpark of three to four hundred USD based on the prices of their other products.

Mishimoto radiators are very nice and offer a lifetime warranty. It would be great if they made a radiator that was a direct replacement vs trying to fit up one of their universal radiators. The claim in performance for Mishimoto's other products is to provide up to 25 to 30 percent better cooling than stock.

I would be interested depending on the timing of the release of the product and price.
