Dual fan question ?
I know this is beating a dead horse.. 89 TPI 350 Formula. The prior owner messed around with some of the wiring, by the way he/she did it, this person had a very loose grasp on automotive wiring (paper clips to jump the A/C switch etc...).
I've got everything back to stock with the exception of the lower temp fan switch. For about a day both fans ran the way they are supposed to. Pass side fan on with A/C, driver side fan came on with temp.
Now only the Pass side fan ever comes on. I jumped the temp switch and only the Pass side comes on. I connected the Driver side fan directly to a battery and it works.. The relay is new, but made in China..
I'm thinking of just doing the Ground switch at the relay suggested in another thread but I'd really like this to just work stock.

Re: Dual fan question ?
Try swapping the relays first if you suspect it may be the problem. If it isn't, jump the CTS like you did and test for a ground on the green/white wire on the relay. Jump from orange to black/red wire and see if the fan works. Test the orange for 12v constant. Test the tan/white for 12v with ignition on. Inspect the connector on both ends (fan and relay) the connectors will often get hot and loosen not making good contact. Check the fan ground. Let us know what you find.

Re: Dual fan question ?
OK par for the course, whatever car I'm working on has different colored wires from every other car or at least the wiring diagram..
My relay has Orange(constant hot) Blue, Brown W/White strip, Red and Black W/White stripe.
This is the relay closest to the brake booster on the driver side.
I get kinda nervous jumping wires I don't know about, I really hate letting the smoke out.....

OK the one on the evaporator has Purple, Red, Orange and Black. The terminal for red looks a little toasted so that one's getting replaced regardless..
Re: Dual fan question ?
That is your high speed fan relay for HVAC blower. The fan relays have been put in a few places. Colors should match my first post, with the exception that one relay may have a black wire in place of green/white.

Re: Dual fan question ?
That's the MAF relay. You are going to have to find the fan relays by following the wires is all I can tell you. I gave you the 3 main areas they are mounted. By the booster, the HVAC box and the battery area. They will have 4 wires each. Orange, black/red, tan/white, green/white or black or grey. With "custom" wiring as you describe, they may have been moved. A member here has his mounted under the dash trim.
